Havent really had a chance to test, hence the 3 stars… but just to those curious…
Unlike the XP400…. these DO NOT have the BT adaptor for Xbox360 wireless but cost $20 more than the older XP400
I will update as i test them later!**update*so ive used them for about 5 hours…

The sound is very good so far. I do kinda wish it would go a bit louder. its loud enough but could use a bit more.
The reception was outstanding. No static/ popping. the headset never lost audio connection. I had a slight hiccup for like a mili second, but the connection never dropped. Really solid. Big Plus!
The fit is pretty comfy. The headsets are a bit on the big side though. i wish i could make the headband a bit smaller by a notch or two. The leatherette earmuffs when you start to sweat a bit kinda forms a seal around the ear so it helps block out more noise.

I did not get a chance to try the chat, but i connected the wire for a bit. The connection was solid too. I remember the old TB x41 had issues just moving the wires i would get popping noises, but i didnt encounter any so far. The headset is pretty solid. Wish it had the BT dongle included. If they are the same as the xp400, i may just return and get those since the bt alone is an extra $30.

Turtle beach headsets have come along way from those RF ones that were horrible with the popping noises etc….

Overall i like them. They just need a volume boost. I had them at max volume the whole time on my borderlands 2 session. Like i said, loud enough.. but im sure some people would like to be able to set it higher. Id say give them a shot. you may be impressed!

I will give it a 4 star due to the lack of the BT dongle not being included. This should already be standard across the board now. Not like a bt dongle costs much to make.

After doing a few days of researching online and reading up about as many headsets for my Xbox i could find (and seeing multiple positive reviews here) i decided to give this a shot.

After 4 days of ~6 hours/day of use I’m doing this review.

First Impressions – Initial feel of the headset was pretty good, adjusters seem solid, mic stores out of the way when not in use, most of the buttons don’t have a “cheap” feel to them. It looks nice even though it’s branded with Call Of Duty all over it. But that’s pretty much where all the good stuff ends.

Fit – Immediately i noticed this headset is COMPLETELY out of size/shape compared to any other headset ive owned. The earmuffs are angled forward and do not sit comfortably, its held way too tight on my head to the point it becomes painful after 20 minutes of wearing it – squeezes really tight on the sides. The size adjustment is another thing that completely blows my mind, these are able to extend so far up you could literally wear a winter toque on your head and still have wiggle room with these headphones on. Its HEAVY, and i wear hard hats and headgear at work all the time.. if your coming from your typical wired headset you will be surprised at how after a while these actually hurt your head, just the headphones alone without being plugged in to charge i would compare it to the weight of a full big can of Arizona Iced Tea. Balance that on your head after a couple hour gaming sessions and its pretty painful. Understand that all new headsets will have a break-in period but I don’t see this one loosening up enough that it wont hurt me. The earcups get really hot after long gaming sessions, this headset is noise cancelling as in i can’t hear what my girlfriend is saying while she is sitting 2 feet from me and i’m playing, this bothers me because i won’t hear the phone ring, or the doorbell if im using these.

Now i’ve been gaming/using a computer with headsets from steel/seinheiser/plantronics/etc for going on 10 years, my head isn’t small or huge, i’d say i have a pretty generic head shape when it comes to most people. I’ve never had issues with headsets fitting the way this one does just put it that way, and after 20 minutes of use I know that I won’t be able to continue wearing it.

Connection – Didn’t really have any problems as far as connectivity, had to re-pair it out of the box but what wireless device doesn’t need to from time to time. I had a couple few second periods where it was staticy but it lasted at most 3 seconds. The headset recevier sitting on top of my xbox and about 2 inches from my Wireless router, i intentionally put it there to give it as much interference as possible but so far so good, i can move 10-15 feet away from the xbox and still get a good signal without missing anything, any further and it starts dropping in and out. After i was satisfied it wasn’t having connection problems I moved the receiver a few shelves above my xbox and made sure its away from anything else electronic.

Sound quality – This is the first Turtle Beach product i’ve owned so I don’t have a completely accurate baseline of what these should be sounding like, BUT… i’m definitely not happy. Connected via optical out on my Xbox, Full HD settings, 5.1 surround out on my settings etc, first thing i played was Black Ops II with all audio set to stock – Sounds ok, tried all the “Treyarch Mix” settings, played around for 45 mins adjusting all the settings i possibly could and this thing failed.. HARD. There was a previous review on here that talked about this thing not being loud enough – completely accurate, on full volume (headset has individual volume controls for microphone loopback and master sound) for any HD tv shows and movies i watched, it wasn’t loud enough. In a quiet room with no white noise around you its ok, but throw in people talking or a dishwasher running and you’ll realize this headset doesn’t go loud enough. Playing Xbox games is a little different as most games you can overdrive the volume settings to make it louder, but i was watching Netflix and Windows Media Center and the volume control just wasn’t what i think it should be. I’m not hard at hearing, and i definitely know what good sound is.

All the settings for surround sound angles and all the other ridiculous adjustments you can make on these are completely useless. 9/10 people won’t be able to distinguish the surround adjustments and the other 1/10 won’t care(i played every game with all surround settings off). Once i had it adjusted to what was the optimum these things were gonna get and playing a few hours at those settings, it made me wanna go back to my old headset. High’s weren’t crisp enough, imagine your walking through a field of crickets in a game, my Steelseries headset was sharp, you could actually make out the crickets, this one its “washed” out, sounds muffled, you pick up a little more of whats going…

i was aprehensive at first to get these after my first turtle beach headset failed (xp400). But have to say that i am very happy with these

    sound quality is great.
    no annoying clicks or interference
rechargeable battery lasts a very long time
only rated 4 stars because they are slightly uncomfortable
